Michael Jew (Program Director)

Coaching Experience: Michael is a Level 5 USASF/IASF accredited cheerleading coach. Prior to coaching cheerleading, Michael coached many competitive sports including rugby, soccer, softball and volleyball to name a few. He has also assisted in several musicals for St Paul's School in Bald Hills. Michael has competed in and won many state and national cheerleading competitions in divisions of cheer, partner stunt and group stunt.

Professional Links:
Michael holds a Bachelor of Secondary Education from the Queensland University of Technology. His areas of specialty include Earth Science, Geography, Studies of Society and Environment and Junior Science.

Through his teaching he has extensive experience in developing curriculum and assessing rubrics in line with governmental and other relevant protocols. This knowledge has helped him in developing Brisbane All Star Cheerleading's very own cheerleading curriculum! This program is developed according to relevant cheerleading body (USASF and AASCF) published protocols, as well as advice from world renowned experts in the fields of both cheerleading and dance.

Personal Cheerleading Vision:
Through application of his cheerleading curriculum, Michael hopes to drive our athletes to perform at their full potential. The road may be physically and mentally tough at times, but it will also be exhilarating, fun and filled with high levels of personal satisfaction.

Helena Motlagh (Executive Director)

Professional Links: Helena holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of South Australia as well as a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) from the University of Queensland. She is currently working as a physiotherapist in the area of research where she is specifically interested in neck and chronic pain mechanisms.

Helena has previous experience in working with children with special needs through her professional work in paediatric physiotherapy and volunteer work with the YMCA and Muscular Dystrophy Association. Helena also holds a current CPR certificate, Applied First Aid, Fitness Certificate III and has completed training in Pilates for Physiotherapists.

Coaching Experience: Helena is a level 5 USASF/IASF accredited cheerleading coach. As well as competing, she has had several years experience as a coach and choreographer of Sport Aerobics routines for Saint Ignatius College in Adelaide. Helena was first introduced to All Star Cheerleading at the age of eleven and has been enthralled by the sport ever since! In recent years, Helena has been part of state and national winning teams in both South Australia and Queensland, competing in cheer, pom, partner stunt and group stunt divisions. She has experience as both a flyer and base in cheerleading.

Through coaching, Helena hopes to share the joy and excitement that cheerleading has brought her with others.
